  • 2004 F22 at Oshkosh!

    Tribe:

Just got off the phone with Harry Ingram at the Taylorcraft Aviation Factory for an update of the progress of his first new 2004 models. The first factory built machine will be at Oshkosh just a few short weeks from now! This is exciting stuff, after 12 years of no Taylorcraft production.

The first bird is ready for cover, the engine is there at the factory, and the last items are being assembled for its completion. I know this sounds like a lot to do in the next few weeks, but both Harry's full staff and the good folks from Polyfiber will be working on it nearly around the clock for the next two weeks! (wish I had that kind of support for my project...............)

And here's another exciting item......check out the latest, first July issue, of Trade a Plane for the half page ad for the new F22's from Taylorcraft Aviation! here.. http://home.earthlink.net/~t-craft/F22factoryad04.jpg
or go to Trade-a-Plane.com and find it.

    Here's a sneek peek:

I'll be there at Oshkosh with four of my fellow Leicester Aero Club members, and we all look forward to viewing the new machine.
    {you never know, I might bring my cheque book}

We'll be camping in Paul's Park in Camp Scholler, come and join the "Oshkosh Irregulars" for a drink (er...bring some beer)

      Oshlosh Setup Help

      Tribe:

In speaking with Harry yesterday I remember he mentioned that they only had one day to setup at AirVenture 2004, the 26th of July. The show starts the next day. He mentioned they had a big tent to put up and if the plane arrives by road (hopefully not, but............) they will have their hands full getting everything together. I think it would be nice if any tribesmen (or tribeswomen) who gets there early and could help out with the setup might volunteer to help out Harry and Darleen. I believe it's going to be just the two of them there all week.

I told him I'd be happy to spend some time there talking to potential customers, and I know Gary Owens (first new owner) said he will be doing the same. Even if it was just to let Harry and Darleen get a snack or potty break, it would be nice if we could drop by and help out for a bit.

How about it gang. Do we have any more volunteers? I know you all want to see Harry's and Gary's new plane!!!!

I'll be around, hopefully by the 26th, and will stop by to see what help I can give. Is the location of the Taylorcraft tent know yet?

Speaking with Raechel at the factory on Monday, it now looks like the plane will be ground transported to the show.

There is still a lot of work to get done in the next 9 days for it all to happen. We'll see soon!

Five English pond-hoppers will help...can us Brits out-number you Yanks in helping Harry? Please prove us wrong.

I'll be arriving on Friday the 23rd by road! Leaving the plane home this year so I can bring the pedal Taylorcraft, the Taylor Junior washing machine and a couple other memoribilia items! Plus, then I won't have to worry about the weather!

See everybody Monday morning for the arrival of the Texas gang!
