The National Association of REALTORS is all over this and working to get it repealed, before it takes effect. But, I am very pleased we aren't the only ones who know about this ploy to steal billions from unsuspecting homeowners. How many REALTORS do you think will vote Democratic in 2012?

Did you know that if you sell your house after 2012 you will pay a 3.8% sales tax on it? That's $3,800 on a $100,000 home, etc. When did this happen? It's in the health care bill and goes into effect in 2013.

Why 2013? Could it be to come to light AFTER the 2012 elections? So, this is "change you can believe in"? Under the new health care bill all real estate transactions will be subject to a 3.8% Sales Tax.

If you sell a $400,000 home, there will be a $15,200 tax.

This bill is set to screw the retiring generation who often downsize their homes. Does this make your November and 2012 vote more important?

did not offer to fire some of the thousands of unnecessary federal employees that he hired

did not threaten to not pay the senators and representatives or any of their staff

did not threaten to take benefits away from welfare recipients

did not threaten the food stamp programs

did not threaten to not pay foreign aid

did not threaten to cut back on anything that involves his base voters

Why are we allowing this person to destroy this wonderful country with his selfishness and his lies?

I really don't think this site is the proper place for an individual to try and advance their own political agenda. I thought this site was about the wonderful Taylorcraft airplane. By the way I did multiple landings on Lake Superior with wheels today and no one was spouting incorrect political crap. Just my opinion.

Uh, guys? This is the humor, rants and raves section. This section is specifically FOR this kind of post. We created it just so political, humorous, silly, and totally off Taylorcraft topic posts wouldn't flood the regular sections. This is where we blow off a little steam and vent our frustrations.
I agree COMPLETELY when this kind of post is in the regular sections (when I agree and disagree with them), but here I either say AMEN to the post, or laugh and go on to the next one.

Man there sure are going to be some frustrated people the day after election 2012.

Me, it won't bother me either way, because nothing is really going to change. It is the system that is broken and the guys running the system are not going to change it, regardless of who you vote in. Eventually something will be done about it, but not at the voting booths. You know what I am talking about and that is how it is going to get fixed. Several Founding Fathers thought it was a good idea every once in a while. I rather hope I am NOT here when it happens.

One thing that does amaze me and I fail to understand; and that is the working-class conservatives that vote for a Republican and he stabs them in the back and then they vote in another one in and he stabs them in the back again. It just goes on and on. You would think someone would catch on sooner or later.

It just isn't so.

On the 3.8% tax it is only on INVESTMENT PROFITS and ONLY if you make over $200,000 a year for individuals and $250,000 for couples. Know anyone who has made a PROFIT on real estate lately?

Statistically speaking the odds are that it doesn't apply to you or me, right?

As for all the other stuff it is just political claptrap that is common to both sides and may or may not be factual.

My 99% crap comment was just on the above two lead items that can be checked.

Just to add a little balance to what I have previously said here, this comes from an investment newsletter:

"By now, we're sure you've heard squawking about Obama's new tax bill… Next year, the dividend tax rate would increase to the higher personal income tax rate of 39.6%. Including the phasing out of certain deductions and exemptions, the rate is 41%. Finally, if you add the 3.8% investment tax surcharge in ObamaCare, the 2013 dividend tax rate would be 44.8% – nearly triple today's 15% rate.

But dividends are paid after the corporation pays taxes on its profits. If you assume a maximum 35% corporate tax rate and (adding) a 44.8% dividend tax, the total tax on earnings paid as dividends would be 64.1%."

What he is saying is that by the time that profits in the form of dividends gets to the person who has invested in a good solid stock (coke, microsoft,ect), say for retirement, the government will have taken 64% of the money total.

The author points out that it is likely that the persons who will be affected most are the upper part of the middle class, small business owners, and family owned farms.

Hope all the Taylorcraft owners are rich! It is true that the law, as written has a 3.8% tax on the profits made from a home sale and not the total sale. But that is one of the smallest tax raises in the healthcare law. You know the waver your Health insurance has for now. When it expires, the state of Montana estimates that the monthly cost to the individual policy is $500.00. Don’t know about the rest of you but that will leave me on Obama Care.

For those that think nothing can be done, just thanks those that kept user fees from going into affect. Per takeoff was going to be $100.00. At that rate the FAA could afford to have personnel posted at non-controlled airports to watch you! Obama himself said this fee was necessary.
