Re: The coolest cat in aviation?
Many years ago my wife drove me to the airport to pick up our Cessna 172 after it's annual. I did a pretty thorough preflight, closed up the service door in the cowling, waved my wife off for home ( I told her I would follow the road home and would watch for her ), cranked the bird up, back taxied the long runway, did a long runup, and took off in persuit of my wife. About 6 miles up the road I spotted our red Studebaker and moved the bird a little to the right of the center of the road so that I would be able to lean left and see the car as I passed over. As I closed on the Stude I noticed a couple of people sitting under a yellow umbrella at a lawn table on their lawn along the road. Just before I reached the lawn party and the car, there was a loud bang and the service door flew open and a cat flew out into space. The door was flapping violently but I couldn't resist looking back for the cat. I spotted it for a second headed for the umbrella. I wanted to turn back to the airport, but was afraid that the people below would think that I had tossed the cat at them, so I slowly backed off on the throttle and after a mile or so gradually turned back to the airport. The airport cat was nowhere to be seen.
I could tell you the story of the cat that when through the fan belt of my new Oldsmobile, but later for that.

Re: The coolest cat in aviation?
I went out and started my truck up to head for work and heard a thump--well knowing what probably happened I shut it down, and walked around in front and sure enough 1 dead cat, I picked it up and tossed it in the trash, then just checking I opened up the hood and found 4 more dead cats--the whole damn family. I was sure glad that we had a pressure washer at work, there was parts everywhere.
