I've had Labs for many years....what you do when they go west is....cry, then you go get another one....one never replaces the other....you just fall in love with the new ones and remember the old ones.

        Lookout pheasants!

You'll remember the first year or so is pretty wild and then they turn into awesome dogs. They look like this as young 'uns so we don't kill them when they chew the cable off the side of the house, eat a remote, devour expensive books, chomp holes in the middle of rugs, etc. All while ignoring the stack of perfectly good chew toys and after having been run and worked for hours.

The destruction my dogs have left in their youth is amazing when you look at them later and they've mellowed out. Chocolates always seem to be the worst, followed by blacks, and then yellows.

        Great dogs!

You know your right but then again you have to look at it from his or her point of view. If you leave them alone to long they are punishing you for doing so either by way of chewing up something you cherish or by pissing on something that smells like you.
So think how you would feel if you were them you would do the same thing.
And when you look into there eyes closely you will see the love and devotion along with that special look that says " See I got you right where I want you sucker"

Precious baby! We are numbers 3 and 4. Our yellow lab, Holly, is "16". And other than being loosey goosey in the empennage, a bit goofy, and selectively deaf--she's still in the game. Our 9 year old is a perennial puppy.

On a different subject--Has anyone other than us, and don't ask how we found it, seen the 1955 Amos and Andy: Kingfish Teaches Andy to Fly? It's not only a hoot, but the training aircraft is nonother than a BC-12D, N 43303. Even get a good look at the original instrument panel. Fun!!!! Found a very good cleaned up DVD edition on Amazon.

MORE INFO! Where did you get the DVD? What is the exact title? Can you make copies? I would love to see it.
As for "Danny" (his secret identity) he gets totally weird every fall when he knows the kids are coming for Halloween. Maybe it's the bags of candy that reminds him but ever since he was a puppy (he's 10 now) he has loved Halloween. He can't seem to wait for my wife to dress him up and when he outgrew his "Super Dog" suit he was really upset that he couldn't get into it.
He actually takes running leaps off the steps with his front paws out in front. His landings are less graceful, but the kids love it.

Yes, he watches a lot of TV and likes to sit at the table too. He has his own chair he sits in. And you thought YOUR family was strange!

Here are my three boys. Leroy is the yellow lab, Bonzo is a rotweiler mix, Ralph is a mut mix. They are spoiled rotten. But they are the best loyal friends you can have.

                      Hi, Hank
An friend has an old collection of Amos n' Andy VHS "From the golden years of television... I don't know where those came from. So I did an Amazon.com search. The only collections I found that has that particular episode is The Amos 'N Andy Show, Platinum Edition, Boxed Set. This particular episode is titles: Kingfish Teaches Andy to Fly. Had to get the whole set to get the one. It is on Disc 13 of the DVD set. But then as Larry the Cable Guy say, "I don't care who ya are, that there's funny!"

I don't know if I can copy or get it copied. Will see what I can find out. ...but then there are some other titles I can't wait to see... And I will say, the DVD's are cleaned up and whole lot better than the VHS version.

Here are my two girls and a file containing a great tribute to all dogs. On the right is Taylor, a 9 year old half Lab-half Visla. She was very high energy until about 3 years, but has mellowed nicely. ON the left is Hannah. She is pure bred Weimarener, and will be three in May.

If any of you are on Facebook, you can do a search for my name and see the tribute I posted to Piper, who had to be put down one month ago.

Be sure to check out the Word file, "My dog3".
