    SLOW DAY IN TEXAS

It's a slow day in a little East Texas town. The sun is beating down, and the streets are deserted. Times are tough, everybody is in debt, and everybody lives on credit....
On this particular day a rich tourist from back east is driving through town. He stops at the motel and lays a $100 bill on the desk saying he wants to inspect the rooms upstairs in order to pick one to spend the night.
As soon as the man walks upstairs, the owner grabs the bill and runs next door to pay his debt to the butcher. The butcher takes the $100 and runs down the street to retire his debt to the pig farmer. The pig farmer takes the $100 and heads off to pay his bill at the supplier of feed and fuel.
The guy at the Farmer's Co-op takes the $100 and runs to pay his debt to the local prostitute, who has also been facing hard times and has had to offer her "services" on credit. The hooker rushes to the hotel and pays off her room bill with the hotel owner.
The hotel proprietor then places the $100 back on the counter so the rich traveler will not suspect anything.
At that moment the traveler comes down the stairs, picks up the $100 bill, states that the rooms are not satisfactory, pockets the money, and leaves town.
No one produced anything. No one earned anything. However, the whole town is now out of debt and now looks to the future with a lot more optimism.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how the United States Government is conducting business today.

Unfortunately this is not how Obama's stimulus worked. Here is a better example.

A grain farmer walks into a bank and asks for a loan to buy a mule so he can grow more grain. The banker agrees to loan the the farmer $100 and says he needs $25 down and the mule as colateral. The farmer agrees and gets a check for $100.00. The farmer goes to a mule dealer and buys a mule for $100. He then goes to the feed merchant and says I will supply you with grain for $100. The merchant agrees and goes to the pig farmer and offers to sell him feed for his pigs for $100. The pig farmer agrees and tells his friends he is going to make a lot of money selling pork bellies. He says he can make them all rich if they want to invest. He collects $10 dollars each from 10 friends and goes off to Las Vegas. While there he makes the aquatance of a prostitiute. He looses all his money gambling. The prostitute gets mad and goes public with the affair. The friends demand their money back but nothing is left. The feed merchant hears about the pig farmer and refuses to sell him grain. He tells the grain farmer he no longer has a need for his product. The grain goes unsold. The farmer cannot pay the banker so the mule is reposessed. The banker tells the government he cannot lend anymore money because he is broke. The government bails him out with $100 dollars. The banker sells the mule to the mule broker for $25. He pays himslef a big bonus for being such a smart business man. Because the grain farmer, the feed merchant, the prostitue and the investors in the pig farm all lost money, the government agees to support them and taxes the banker who passes the taxes on to his customers. The banker, the mule broker, and the scam artist all make money. while the honest people get left footing the bill.

And Congress takes the money they skimmed off the top in every transaction and uses it to pay for THEIR health care and retirement since they sure don't want to use any PUBLIC system!

I failed to mention that the mule broker sold the mule to China which is now growing grain to import at a lower price.
