    Re: Who am I ?

    Carl,
Hell I would probably vote for a real Jackass but the only two on the ballot are both human......so I vote for the one I feel will try to do the best job with as little bullshit as possible. I would rather be told straight and know what is going on even if I didn't like or agree with it then to be told something that sounds great but filled with non-truth.
I notice all the dirt laid out on McCain and Palin but I also noticed you had nothing directly to say good about Obama. I really have nothing against Obama,I think someday he might make a great leader but he has no real experience at anything. I think he needs to wait a few more years before he is really ready for the job. I don't think being commander and chief is very good position for "On The Job Training". He seems like a good family man with good morals. I have not seen any dirt fly about his character or he personality. Now with that said thier have been many times he has changed his answers or waiting to give he answers until the majority has already been counted. He also has a reputaion for saying one thing and and doing the other,or wording things so if sounds one way and means something else. I know McCain's character is tattooed with past moral mistakes but that doesn't change the fact that he has a mind of his own and is not affraid to speak his mind and make his own decisions without waiting to see what everyone else does first. IMHO McCain has the experience and Obama does not. As for comparing either of our party conidates against Regan,Bush,Bush,or Clinton....well everyone should know that they are not running for president and what they did ,good or bad, does not have anything to do with what Obama or McCain may or may not do with the next fours years! I only hope whoever it is will do better then the last guy and try to make this country a better place for our kids and grandkids. Now,lets all get along, play nice, and go fly while the weather is great and gas is in the tank.

          Re: Who am I ?

To all those out there who want to vote Repbulican, here is something to think about...this is fact not opinion.

          1. Republicans have won seven of the last ten presidential elections.
          2. The Republicans have controlled the house of representatives since 1994 until 2006.
          3. The Senate has been controlled by Republicans the majority of those years and when the Democrats did control it was 51-49 as it is now. Senate Democrats can't do much with that kind of majority. Only reason Democrats in the Senate tolerate Lieberman is because he caucuses with them and that gives them a 51-49 majority.
          4. The Republican Congress investigated President Clinton for Whitewater from 1992 till 1998 when he was impeached for a b..w j.b. 50 million was spent for this.
          5. Republicans have controlled the Supreme Court for a long time--remember the 2000 election when W was sElected by the Supreme Court 5-4 decision. Gore won the popular vote and Buchanan won the Jewish vote in Florida even though a Jew was Gore's running mate. A so-called Democrat made up the butterfly ballot, but we now find out that she was a shill.
          6. Clinton had a budget surplus and gas at one time was under $1.00 a gallon. Gas was $1.43 a gallon when Clinton left office.
          7. According to the Downing Street memos the intelligence was being "fixed" around the policy regarding our cause for war in Iraq.
          8. Cheney was CEO of Haliburton before he was VP. Haliburton now owns Iraq.
          9. Barack Obama is half Black and half White. According to Senator James Webb a war hero and winner of the Silver Star and Navy Cross--Senator Webb said that if Obama becomes president he will be the first President of African-American ancestry and the 13th President of Scotts-Irish ancestry.

The definition of insanity--doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome.

            Re: Who am I ?

WOW, glad we all agree on our voting for Taylorcrafts. This is getting really close to going critical on politics. We need to remember that friends don't throw rocks at each other, maybe snowballs, but not rocks. Which ever side we are on we can all have a laugh at George Ws lack of communication skills, Bill Cs oval office "indiscretions", Cheneys lack of accuracy with a long gun (Lord, I HOPE it was poor marksmanship), Al Gores screwball comments (sorry guys, I actually WORK with the "data" he quotes, and he hasn't a CLUE how to interpret them), and the thought of Sarah field dressing a moose in formal evening attire.
Politics is SERIOUS business, but this group is a tribe of FRIENDS, let's keep the political talk friendly (and FUNNY). I can laugh at Jimmy Carter AND Ronald Reagan. All of the politicians are human trying to do the best they can (mostly failing miserably).
Let's move this toward light and funny. Both sides have plenty of gaffs to laugh at. Leave the serious part for a political group. WE all love Taylorcrafts.

              Re: Who am I ?

Thanks Hank. I was about to discuss how some are purty loose with what they call fact when in reality its 90% opinion.

Point is go vote and leave it there . You aint goona convince many here to change their political views or show how smart you think you are in the meantime.

Enjoy America. Enjoy the best it brings us and go fly your Taylorcrafts

(while I am presently without one BUT enjoying the Baby Ace immensley)

Have a nice fall day in Lexington SC I am going flying to a local Eaa meeting down at Doo Little field(play on words) where we are doing a seminar on welding best to ALL

                Re: Who am I ?

If half your friends call you a liberal and half call you a conservative you are fine (as long as they are all Taylorcraft lovers - OK the Baby Ace is great too, kind of like a Taylorcraft with a convertible top!). If you find ALL of your friends think like you do, you are probably in trouble. Same if everyone seems to be right or left of you with no balance.
I LIKE talking (friendly) with those on the "other side". That's how I found out I was an "Environmentalist". I "hug trees" but recognize they are a renewable resource. The term "old growth" is pretty much totally misunderstood. Same with "space based solar power", radiation from Nuke power plants and solving energy shortages with drilling and wind power alone. you have got to look at ALL sides of issues with an open mind. Just got to make a check for holes in my head every once in a while.
No politician will be perfect till I run!
