A True Story from Neil Armstrong
Here is a TRUE anecdote about Neil Armstrong...
When Apollo Mission Astronaut Neil Armstrong first walked on the moon, he not only gave his famous "one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" statement but followed it by several remarks, usual com traffic between him, the other astronauts and Mission Control. Just before he reentered the lander, however, he made the enigmatic remark "Good luck Mr. Gorsky." Many people at NASA thought it was a casual remark concerning some rival Soviet Cosmonaut. However, upon checking, there was no Gorsky in either the Russian or American space programs.
Over the years many people questioned Armstrong as to what the "Good luck Mr. Gorsky" statement meant, but Armstrong always just smiled. On July 5, 1995 in Tampa Bay FL, while answering questions following a speech, a reporter brought up the 26 year old question to Armstrong. This time he finally responded. Mr. Gorsky had finally died and so Neil Armstrong felt he could answer the question.
When he was a kid, he was playing baseball with a friend in the backyard. His friend hit a fly ball, which landed in his neighbors' backyard, under their bedroom window. His neighbors were Mr. & Mrs. Gorsky. As he leaned down to pick up the ball, young Armstrong heard Mrs. Gorsky shouting at Mr. Gorsky. "Sex! You want sex?! You'll get sex when the kid next door walks on the moon!"

    Not true.

Did Neil Armstrong say 'Good luck, Mr. Gorsky' during the Apollo 11 moon landing?

Some stories are too good to be held back by accuracy.

Re: Neil Armstrong - True story?

The story isn't true, but even at NASA we keep telling it. Armstrong is a really neat guy and pretty straight (in the old meaning of the word, although I'm sure he is in the new meaning too). He would have never made a statement like that for real. There are a LOT of myths about Armstrong. Read "First Man" for the true story. A life like his doesn't need embelishment (but we will keep telling the story, and letting people know it is myth).

                  Having a bad day

                  Howdy Tribe,

Thought that ya'll might enjoy this:

It seems a woman came home from shopping and observed her husband standing at the kitchen sink gyrating wildly. She also noticed that there were two wires that appeared to be comming from the toaster that were going to his front. Being quick witted, she grabbed a large rolling pin and gave him two good smacks to supposedly knock him loose from the electrical connection and managed, in the process, to break his arm in two places.

It seems she couldn't let the man enjoy listening to his new WALK MAN!!!!!

And then there was the terrorist who mailed a letter bomb but failed to put sufficient postage on the package. The post office, with their usual efficiency, returned the envelope to the terrorist, marked "Insufficient Postage" Of course, by this time, he had forgotten that he had mailed
the envelope and tore the package open. Of course, it exploded and killed him. So, I guess that sometimes things balance out.
                  Best Regards

                            Howdy Tim,

Sorry, I couldn't find one of the "Quick Reply icons in the posts above." However, my feeble attempts at mastering this electronic marvel have culmanated in a complete shut down of the power grid in OK.
