    Re: Katrina

Yeah it is but I thinks all donations are good under the circumstances as long as you give it to your church or the Red Cross.
Also,IN MY HUMBLE,PISSED OFF POSITION,if the government really needs financial help cleaning up Katrina's mess..GET IT FROM THE OIL COMPANIES!!!! I bet they've got plenty right now and even if they don't then they CAN afford the loss.

      Re: Katrina

      Lee,

My family runs a new auto dealership (Chevy, Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep). We have been trying to hire a couple of mechanics (preferably with experience in the above brands or at least ASE certified) but have not been able to do so locally. I'm not sure how to get the word out, but I'd be willing to help with relocaiton expenses if you know of any mechanics that have been displaced by the disaster and no longer have a job. The number for the dealership is 888-828-4356. If you know of any way of passing the word along it would be much appreciated. I had hoped that either the Red Cross or Salvation Army would have posted a job board but haven't been able to locate one.

Craig, don't know either. But advertizing in the following papers: The Daily Iberian; Daily Advertiser; Morning Advocate; Houston Post.

Try these, should help and of course the state employment service.

          Re: Katrina

This is the first time that I got internet access since the storm. We got electricity back on Wednesday. I'm using a Verizon PCMCIA card in my laptop for internet access. My taylorcraft is OK. But the one of the T hangars at our home drome got ripped off of its foundation and flipped on its back. No sign of the Piper Cub that was in it. I haven't talked to anyone else at the strip yet. The Cub owner might have flown it out of there before the storm. I flew yesterday to take pictures of Katrina damage. Lots of helicopters in the air and soldiers on the ground.
