MIL specifications

Tim reminded me of this when he commented about the MIL spec for spark plugs on the discussion thread.

My favorite Mil spec is the one that specifies how many rat or mice turds can be in a 10% sample of a given lot size of grain, such as oats, or wheat, etc.

We had one we posted in our office for DoNuts! It specified the size and type of paper towel you had to lay one on and how large the grease ring could be after so much time. The hole had to be between two sizes, the weight and OD were specified. It even mandated how teh toppings had to be applied.
When they told us we had to use it we laughed, posted it on the door and sent the Chief to get the Airman to go get donuts anywhere he liked them.
