  • Bungee tool in TX?

Does anyone have a bungee tool that I could borrow in the Central Texas area or in the San Antonio area? I want to go ahead and replace my bungees before they get too much further.

Ryan, there is a member on here that makes and sells a bungee tool. His name is David Rude.

Hey Ryan. Do as us canucks do and just buy a $ 25 barb wire fencing stretcher and use it to install your bungees. makes it a 2 man job but it is cheap and works. I did mine and put the heavy 1080 bungees on it. Can get you the manufacturers name if interested, I know it was manufactured in your country. bought it at the local hardware store. Re: Bungee tool in TX?

Some of us have been talking for a long time about starting up the regional clubs again (not to replace the Taylorcraft Club, just to augment it with local groups). The Virginia Carolinas Taylorcraft Club used to be really active and was a great group that got together fairly often. If the guys in different areas could get together things like bungee changing gatherings and helping on each others annuals becomes great excesses to just get together with each other. We need to revive the concept.

Hank , Great idea. Lets start a thread and see the interest. I am in South Carolina. Perhaps for convience and numbers we could do a South East Region Say : Alabama, Carolinas, Florida,Georgia,KY,MD, Miss, Tenn, VA, WV ? 11 states ? Dues could be some $$ to support this site ?

Then perhaps each area of the country could do the same ? Or ?

                      Re: Bungee tool in TX?

We weren't talking about a Virginia Carolinas group again. What sounds better considering the spread of that group is to go with Mid-Atlantic and include everything south through South Carolina, west to the Appalachians, and north till the New Englanders feel we are encroaching (which we will ignore and allow them to join anyway). ;-)
When Va, Carolinas was going strong we had members all across the country and several in Europe, one in Africa and some in Australia. The idea is NOT to restrict it to one geographic area, but to have the guys within flying distance be the "core". If it is web based there is no reason someone couldn't join all their border areas too (or ALL of the groups).
                      Hank
What say the guys in the Heart of Dixie, New England, The Great Mid West, The "FROZEN FEW" and whatever other clusters who want to get together?

Well guys, I'm off to try and change the bungees with the tool sent to me. If I can swing it, I'll try and get some video as well.

Any luck changing the bungees? I will be in need of a bungee tool myself in the very near future if there is a loaner out there available? Extremely happy to pay all shipping costs!

                              Greg,
If you don't find one let me know. I am up here on the shore of Lake Superior and like I said before, I am sure my tool would like a little warm weather. We just had 20" of snow and 8" more coming Thursday. I could send it down on UPS if you want, as long as I get it back by this summer.
