  • Glove Box Door

Does any one know how the glove box door on an originally built Taylorcraft probably the Delux was attached to the insturment panel , I have a new glove box door that I got in Oskosh from Dave Wenglarz who is making new aluminum parts for Taylorcrafts along with a small spring that attaches to the door to keep it closed, but I cannot understand how it would attach to the door. Its a small spring not much bigger than one in a ball point pen. For those interested Dave will fabricate most any aluminum part for a Taylorcraft, and his phone no. is 219-828-3835.

    Walter,

I got a new panel and two new doors from him last year. He found a spring manufacturer for me and had new ones made. That is why you ended up with one. The springs are made just like they originally were. They are riveted to the doors and then bolted to the instrument panel. The bottom I think. Next time I am at the hangar I will have to look again.

        Walter,

Hope these help. I used a couple of small screws and those arched square threaded plates, (can't remember the name of those), to attach to the instrument panel. I

Guden spring has the correct hinge. Rivets hold it to the door and screws to the inside of the box. Tim
