Anybody have a spare pre-war push-pull type mag switch that they would part with??

They sell tehm at Tractor Supply and Taylorcraft parts outlet. They were switches on old (and still on a lot of new) tractors. The company still makes them but you want teh old design ones with the metal knobs like the picture. They have been out in the weather for over 70 years on tractors and still work.
They are made by Farmall and you need two if you have dual ignition.

I've looked at the tractor switches but they're so far off the originals, and have found closer on the internet, but if I could find an original...

That is a light switch, not a mag switch. I have one in my 45. They are great switches and H**L bent for strong. Really simple to take apart and rebuild. I would love top get a second one so I could be original in the 41.

They used the same switch for the lights and the mags, that's why the cockpit plate says "Push Off" for the lights and "Push On" for the mags.
The pictures above are of the mag switch from a 1939 airplane that didn't have lights.

Man! Taylor really DID use what was on hand when he put them together. Everything I could find showed the tractor mag switches for the engine and the slide switches for the lights.
