Shannons flight traning

Well today Shannon finished her flight training and we called the DPE for a date to do a check ride so on the 31 of January she will know if she is a pilot all training it taylorcraft got tail wheel endorsement before a license here is a photo of her T/O on last solo cross country this morning

Will the FAA let her take her check ride in the Taylorcraft or does she have to use a span can?

The DPE said that the tcraft was just fine as he had a bunch of time in tcraft years ago and was looking forward to doing her check ride in my plane and a side note DPE's with sport pilot are hard to find because there not using the rating enough to warrant the extra paperwork to keep it so they are dropping it talked to 5 here in TN and 4 don't do them any more in 2011 had 9 in the state now 3 so if some one is looking to get sport pilot ticket start looking for DPE to do check ride the air port that she is going to is towered also we do have radio

Great news please keep us up on the status of Shannon this is one of the great things about the tribal news . Beats smoke signals .

Well I jest got a call from west memphis Ar and shannon passed her check ride this morning in the tcraft. All her training was in the tcraft and also her check ride. Well tribe we have a new tcraft driver

That's a remarkable achievement in this day & age where spam can training is the norm.

I doff my cap, tip my cane, tap my thigh and dip my colours to salute what is a very commendable aviation achievement. I would have loved to have learned in a taildragger, so you have the fullest jealousy from here!

Hey Everyone, Thank you so much for the congrats. As some of you know I went thru a time were I lost my instructor due to airport politics, and it took me 2 years to actually find one who had any knowledge of tail wheel. Just as I was getting ready for the check ride in January the weather turned lousy and once again I was stuck. Then poor Donnie took a job flying some rich guy around and wasn't available. Finding this new instructor was really by pure luck. But from start to finish only took me 2 weeks. I had heard so many horror stories I was actually worried, But this Check ride DPE was great. He was thrilled to be out in the old plane. Once again thank you so much for the kind words, I'm just thrilled to finally say Pilot not student pilot. Hahaha! Shannon

Congrats Shannon, I know it is a relief to finally be done with the check ride! Think I saw you flying over FYE that day!
