On the exhaust that was on my plane the heat muff was sealed with aluminum heat exchanger tape for gas furnaces self sticking and looked good

I was wondering about that tape but wasn't sure how 'legal' or fire-resistant that would be.

Marty not sure about legal but how hot does the heat exchanger in furnaces get heat muff maybe 900 deg max aluminum 1100 deg melt tape was on my plane 5 years worked fine went threw 5 annuals 2 different AI's aluminum don't burn it melts
