    Seaplane Prop

I don't remember what the prop is but it spins up the old O-200 to 3100 RPM.

      Jim,
3100 is high for an 0-200 . Are you sure your guage is correct?
I purchased a hobby shop "hanger nine" electronic tach for $20 that I point through the window to measure engine RPM . My electric Westach guages are off a mile, I don't know how inaccurate the mechanical guages are .
Anyway, my C90 with 74 X 39 prop will get to 2500 static and about 2650 in flight at max power. I thing I would do a little better again if I reduced the pitch to 74 X 38. I am seriously
considering swapping the C90 for a NSI Subaru with the CAP in-flight adjustable prop. They have a 110 HP motor and the 150 HP
Turbo version, both of which are the same weight as the C90, burn less fuel, are VERY smooth, quiet, and cost less. Bonus is they
have the same bolt pattern as the Continental series engines .
This is the engine Taylorcraft needs to put in their planes. Oh and another perk, liquid cooled with plenty of safe HEAT for ones toes
during the colder months . NSI is not certified yet though, I'm sure this is in the works given they have some 80,000 hours on
      customer engines .

I haven't tested the tac, however my continental O-200 manual says that I can be at 3100 RPM for one minute. Do you live in Canada?

Someone told me the formual 1 reno racers run their 0-200's as high as 3500 rpm. I guess making TBO is not a concern for them.
