We polished up a BC12D one time with perfect rig, fairings at the lower end of struts, top end of struts, gap seals on the ailerons, gap seals on elevators & rudder, fairings on the stab to fuselage, streamlined wheel pants, perfect door fit, no antenna, speed tape here and there. Got honest 104 mph cruise at 2200 RPM with the McCauley 74-45 prop. Not at gross but close to it at 1182#.

So far I made two front cuffs, a real try and fit process. I mounted an 8/32 rivnut in the center of a .032 brass plate 1- 1/2 inches long and 3 inches wide. Brass is strong and more important easy to bend wthout fractures. with the brass bent around the strut mounting flanges, you have a very strong mounting with no drilled holes.
