  • EDO 1320 Rear Attach Fitting

I'm looking for a set of clamp or weld on, rear attach foat fittings for a 46 BC-12D going on Edo 1320's. So far every place I've checked does not have them. Kenmore Air only has float parts, no attachment fittings, Airframes Alaska and Atlee have fittings for cubs, and Bauman seems to be out of business. If anyone has any or knows of a source I would greatly appreciate it.

Jeff, I would contact Eddie Peck or Brinley Peck, at PeckAero Products. (902) 467-3333. Canadian outfit...they know floats...!

If you care to, send me a private message and we chat a bit.

Try atlee dodge? I have one if I can find the other one I will have a pair not sure who made them but they look very close to the ones bolted on my plane. Now only if I can find the other one then I can offer a set

Thanks for the info Dick and Joe. Ed Peck at Peck Aero is a wealth of information but he does not have the attach fittings.

Does anyone on here have the drawing for these fittings?

No drawings here of the Taylorcraft factory fittings (there are optionally three noted in the TCDS; P/N 2554, 2555 and 2556; two for the rear struts (L&R) and one (I assume) for the forward end of the rear fin required on some T models).

My plane is in Fairbanks on floats and I can take pictures of what I have if needed. As Tim notes above in lieu of the EDO clamp-on or Taylorcraft fittings (mine are welded on; originally they were clamped on) I would suggest installing Atlee Dodge components. After installation then size the adapter block noted below to set the AOA on floats. All this presumes the three EDO struts and tie wires are dimensionally correct.

There's two variances of concern. One I believe would be the overall distance between the lower rear longeron/gear cluster to float top deck where the rear struts attach. That distance (a stacking combination of rear strut length, upper adapter block that attaches the upper strut end to the fitting, and the fitting's fore and aft bolt C/L attachment offset from the longeron) determines the angle of attack on floats. Mine is about 5* between the top of the float deck and the rear horizontal stabilizer used to level the fuselage. The second is the angle of the flying wires X'ed under the fuselage to the rear fitting. That varies depending on overall float gear geometry and fuselage width.

              Edit:
              A Dodge float fittings:

Eddie Peck might have pictures or more info on the Taylorcraft fittings: http://peckaero.ca

I've got 1500 Baumanns on my plane and can take a picture of the rear (bolt on) fitting if that would help.

I have EDO 1400's on my BC-12D and if needed I can also take a picture and post it if it would be beneficial?
