  • Taylorcraft Parts Soon To Be Available???

Pretty bad that I have to read in the latest Aviation Consumer that Taylorcraft 2000 states they are hoping to be producing parts by the time I read the article on legacy LSA's. And, they already have inventory for 75 percent of a complete airplane and plan to offer custom-ordered Taylorcrafts in a year or two.

They listed the taylorcraft.com web address but it is still the same non-responsive site as it has been.

    Who would have thought???

And it begins once again. (Read with the voices of Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland in a rousing rendition of "Babes in Arms").

    "We should do a SHOW!!"

    1) Start with grand designs to buy an airplane company
    2) Sit on it for a few years because you have NO idea what you have gotten yourself in to.
    3) Make a grand plan to start small and make parts (since it is easy to do and we have ALL the info & tools we need!)

"We got this huge pile of parts already, so in a couple of years we will just throw some planes together and the LSA customers will be knocking or doors down! WOW JUDY! We are gonna be RICH!"

NOW is the time to start putting our pennies together to buy the TC when the current owners find out they are going to lose their shirts.

There is a fortune in GA airplanes! I know, I put a lot of it out there.

Hank if you leave your pennies where they are you will make more money.

We know that. The objective of a sub group of the Foundation was never to make money. That's why our business plan can work. We just don't want to LOOSE all of the money. There IS enough demand in the community to keep a parts manufacturing and distribution business in the black, but there is NOT enough demand to build airplanes. That is just a fact of life in this economy.
There are several features to the concept if individuals are interested, but I do not think it is smart to put them out publicly. I will share the details with a signed non-disclosure agreement. I really don't want to give our ideas away to the current owners. It will just slow down the inevitable for them. The basic concept has worked for other classic plane designs, and some of them have actually generated enough demand to actually build planes eventually, but don't hold your breath. NO ONE is going to get rich, but done right, we won't loose the seed money. This is not a good place to invest your retirement fund, unless you want to work on airplane parts for retirement. There are not many of us who want that, but for those of us who do, it is a great business plan.

I have stayed in-touch with the author of the article and asked if he spoke with someone at Taylorcraft. He told me he did but also takes it with a 'I'll believe it when I see it' attitude. He took it upon himself to forward my contact information to the Taylorcraft folks with the hope they would contact me. I'll let you know if I hear anything.
          Cheers,

Gee I was hoping to make a big announcement at the Fly-In...... I presume we all know about low turn outs at Events around the country lately.
I did the WACO Fly-in of course with the WACO Nine ; she is still there , good thing THAT weather did not hit the previous week-end , they are still with out power at Wynkoop
Frank Pavliga hopes to get her back for this week-end.

              Forrest,

When I find out I try to post that info immediately. We haven't heard much from anyone as to what, if anything, is going on in the Taylorcraft world. Plus, not everyone can make Alliance or Airventure, etc. Sooooo, when I hear something I pass it on immediately.

What is the big announcement you were going to make??? Further details???
              Cheers,
              Marty

Re: Taylorcraft Parts Soon To Be Available???

I was in Brownsville in mid-May 2012 and poked my head in the Taylorcraft building at about 10am on a Tuesday. It had a forklift running some non aircraft inventory and the driver said they just rented space there. I did see a few fuselages on stands back in the gloom, but I never stepped inside. No one from Taylorcraft (SRA) was there. It is not much to report. Taylorcraft is still on the building and they must be paying the rent, so who knows...

Re: Taylorcraft Parts Soon To Be Available???

I have three separate views from a powerpoint presentation that was sent to me from the magazine editor who obtained it from Mostafa Malki of Taylorcraft. Mr. Malki gave permission to pass them onto me. I do not have powerpoint on this computer and have no clue how to convert. They seem to be the old pictures the prior Taylorcraft owners used, at least some of them are. Some photos are dated from November of 2010. There is a 5 year plan for parts, flight instruction, aircraft, etc. If someone has an idea how to convert let me know and I will share this. Worst case I will retype the whole 5 year plan on here.
                    Cheers,
                    Marty

                      Hi Marty-
What are you trying to accomplish with the Powerpoint? Is it something you wish to post on the forum?

The problem with Powerpoint is you need to have a copy on the desktop to run it, unless it is converted with a .ppt to .swf program like PresentationPro or Articulate. I have both from my e-Learning course conversions, if you need something converted.

Hi Marty, If you want, send the Power Point file to me and I'll convert it to a PDF and send you that back. [jones6366 at gmail dot com]

Re: Taylorcraft Parts Soon To Be Available???

I decided to go ahead and retype it. I did not reproduce the italics or bold parts but the words and grammar are as originally written:

                          Taylorcraft 5 year plan

Manufacturing of general aviation parts: The Company will have the resources to manufacture general aviation parts for different brands, like Cessna, Piper, etc., through a Supplemental Type Certificate.

Time frame: Less than 1 year

FAA Licensed Certified Repair Station: Taylorcraft plans to obtain an official FAA licensed certified repair station, specializing in the rebuilding and refurbishing of all Taylorcraft models and any other aircrafts.

Time Frame: 2 to 5 years

Taylorcraft Flight School: Taylorcraft is exploring the potential of a flight school in Brownsville, Texas, to complement its line of products and services. The flight school will provide an alternative and safer mode of transportation given the unmatched safety record of our aircraft and because of security issues for travelers along the border

Time Frame: 3 to 5 years

Sales and Distribution Network: The Company will use regional sales agencies, some individual sales associates, and Taylorcraft Owners Clubs for the promotion and sales of our aircraft and parts. In addition, Taylorcraft will have a direct sales and online sales department for aircraft and parts.

Time Frame: Less than 1 year

Direct Sales and Online Sales: Taylorcraft will have a direct sales and online sales department for aircraft and parts. Aircraft and parts will be available at our facility for our online customers.

Time Frame: Within the next 3 months
                          Cheers,

Will do, Mike. There are two other pieces to this.

Mike Rice, it is how I received it and cannot open it except in Word but cannot do anything else with it. I will try Mike Jones first. Thank you!
