We will be there again this year with our Pacer and the for the first time in 23 years the Taylorcraft. We will also have cars on site and are willing to run people in the town to hotel at night etc... We will also be set up in the shade and will have cold pop and snacks, and plenty of chairs. Stop up and sit a while. Come on out and enjoy yourselves, and fly, fly fly!!! Seems to be one of the few places we get more then one tcraft on the field anymore. Its a nice relaxing time!

I certainly hope more T-Crafts show up this year. It would be nice to see more and meet their owners. I will not be there but will be thinking of you guys. Hope you have good weather like last year!
          Cheers,

Re: Taylorcraft Fly-In to Alliance 2012

Urgent message to any heading to Alliance this year: It was just announced that Obama is going to be on a bus trip in northern Ohio and western Pennsylvania starting on the 5th of July and will be in the area for 2 days. Check for TFR's. I will be out at Barbers helping get set up during the week. If you have any concerns I will have my cell phone and will try to stay up on his scheduled itinerary. 330-316-1038

            Hope to see you there!

Re: Taylorcraft Fly-In to Alliance 2012

AOPA just published Obama's TFR's for Thursday July 5. They range from Toledo eastward, and will encompass most of the airspace during their active times across northern Ohio. It looks like those coming from east will be just far enough at Alliance to be out of the TFR airspace. Assuming nothing changes... that is of course possible. Nothing published yet for Friday. Be very aware!

Yes there are campers there every year. TFR for Friday released and directly impacts Barber Field. Please check before leaving. We will have transportation there for sure on Friday for anyone who needs a lift into town for hotels etc... We are planning camp fires on Friday and Saturday night with hot dogs, an ice cream run to Akron Fulton or New Philadelphia on Saturday evening, and perhaps an evening fly around or two around the factory etc... as well. Schedule will be flexible and relaxed.

Re: Taylorcraft Fly-In to Alliance 2012

TFR updates now available for Thursday July 5 and Friday July 6. It appears that the planned VIP (Obama campaign tour) TFR's will be moving from over Cleveland to over Akron to over Youngstown then to Pittsburgh Friday afternoon. Times are tentaitvely listed and essentially are during the day, moving on later as the progress of the VIP's goes East and South, ending up in Pittsburgh late afternoon. The airport at Barber Field in Alliance, Ohio will be affected during these times. The times are of course subject to change. Anyone flying to or near Alliance should check current TFR's as they develop. I didn't post the times yet, because the information is preliminary and subject to amendment. Info from AOPA website.
