Re: Right wing tank line leak

Plus there is less energy in alcohol than petroleum fuel. When I use 10% alcohol gas in the Porsche (yes, once in a while I have to, but I flush it out whenever I can) I get a 10% REDUCTION in fuel mileage. You guys know me well enough to know I actually track that kind of thing. Gasahol COSTS more per gallon, gives WORSE mileage (range in an airplane) and uses FOOD for FUEL. It is a HUGE looser all around except for one thing (that I know of). Set up properly, it can run cooler in the combustion chamber. MAKE TACO SHELLS, NOT FUEL!!!!
The only reason I don't run alcohol free fuel in all my cars is it is illegal to use the only current local supply because there is no road tax on it. You DO NOT want to be caught driving on the roads with fuel that is un-taxed! I DO use airport alcohol free in my generator, lawn mower and anything else with a gas motor that doesn't drive on the roads and the maintenance problems have all gone DOWN and the power available has gone UP.

The poor Porsche hasn't been on the road for over a year now. I need to get her up and running again.

I use both alcohol free and gasahol in my vehicles, I have never seen that large of a difference in milage. Most of the corn produced in my area either goes on a barge to New Orleans to the gulf for export, or into a container then on the rail to California for export to China or Japan. The corn grown in eastern Il. and Indiana that is used for taco shells is white corn, also known as specialty corn. There is also specialty corn that is grown for alcohol production. George
