  • Hurricane Ivan

Well I just put N95110, T-craft and N8839D, PA22/20 in a Hanger at the local Airport. It is a better hanger and able to stand up to greater wind speeds then my Hanger. Hope they will be ok. I am located abt. 40 Miles SE of New Orleans, La. I guess will get some hurricane force winds over here, just don't know how much. I try to contact the Yellow Duck, (Lee) with no luck. He should be OK where he is. He is about a 100 or so miles west of where I am. Hope he has the Duck tie down well. I will let you all know how it turns out.

        rough ride

It looks as if it is going to be a rough ride. We are glad to be out of the path here in Texas. Our prayers are with you all there.

              Re: Hurricane

Lee we stayed home. We had everthing ready to leave if it got too bad, the wind got to abt. 40 to 50 at it worse. I think the weather man said you got abt. 25 to 30 where you were at so I sure everything is ok.

                Vic:

Good to hear you and 95110 are well and safe after the storm.

We are just getting the remnants of Ivan up here this weekend. Good thing actually because otherwise I'd be upset with George's visit to our area over the next few days. I was hoping to get up flying, but.......

How's this for being stuck by TFR's?

                Cheers,

I just checked my e-mails and found out that the small private airport where I keep my Taylorcraft, in Lovettsville, VA, was hit by a tornado in the remnants of Ivan. It snapped off a fair sized tree about 4 feet from the corner of my hangar, but the airport owner e-mailed a photo and the doors and roof are still on the hangar, so I guess '23876 is OK. Will go up tomorrow to make sure.

                        Andrew,

Next time I meet you I want a trip in whatever you are flying. Thanks for your help at Brodhead with the radial carb details.

I will swap your flight for one in one our Tcraft's when you are over here again.

[now I see why you have that moniker...but why 27?]
