Re: fuel cap and gauge
Bill,
There are no new caps and gauge. Only what you find out there. I found the source for the cap, (actually the same company that made them back in the 40's). I planned on looking into making some but my time is scarce for this project. You would have to have the two tabs cut, a jig made to have them brazed on plus you would have to stamp the tabs with 'GAS' and '12 GAL'. You then have to have a tube brazed on in the center after drilling the cap. The wire can be wire or welding rod with float material. Either treated cork or synthetic cork material. All that just for a gas cap. Now you know why I haven't had the time to deal with it. Hopefully someone here has an extra old one laying around for you.Cheers,
Marty

Re: fuel cap and gauge
There was some one on the forum who had made new gas caps with the taps welded on ,not to long ago If I remember correctly there was a request by others to have them made , you could weld the small tube on the top of this cap for the gauge, I cannot remember who posted the photo, but Im sure its in a past post.

Re: fuel cap and gauge
I had 2 from wag sink after a few months, the epoxy just didnt hold up. I went with the Univair J3 composite float, I never had a problem after that. Tim
