  • Wing inspection ring positions

I have done a little sketch of where the inspection rings go on the underside of the wings of 15-rib models, for those that have covered the wing and forgot to mark up the positions.

It is at www.taylorcraft.org.uk/insp-rings.pdf (62kB pdf file)

Thanks Rob--I'll be doing some retrofitting.

Just my opinion, Ed, you understand. Don't retrofit anything without discussion with your appropriate IA/FAA/A&P/whatever.

        inspection rings

The rings are very easy to put on, and the locations in your drawing are logical. An IA or the FAA does not have to be involved in something like this--not a 337 item. My IA had to use a boroscope to see inside the wing at the last annual, and I'd been planning before the next to put in more inspection rings.
