  • Cowl anti chafe material

I have located the elusive 3/4 " Cowling Chafe Seal. All the major supplies sell is 1". If anyone needs some I had to buy a very large roll. I paid about a buck a foot for the stuff which is what Spruce gets for the 1" stuff. If you need some let me know I will sell it for what I paid for it plus shipping.

I guess oldbits kind of said what I was going to ask. How much of this stuff do you have? We may want enough for two cowls ourselves. :-) L

I think oldbits is going to resell it. He is associated with the Luscombe folks.

I'd like to get enough for one cowl, if you have any left.

                        Laz,
Package arrived this afternoon and check is on its way to you. This stuff looks GREAT. Really looking forward to being able to get out and put it on my plane. Right now, really looking forward to getting out AT ALL and seeing my plane. Got the pressure bandages removed from the knee today and you know the old saying about banging your head on a wall because it feels so good when you stop? Getting that pressure sock and bandage off feels like HEAVEN! Two goodies in one day, what more could I ask for?
                        Thanks again,
                        Hank

I think my wife thinks I am nuts for getting excited about what must look like a skinny white cotton Boy Scout belt to her. Little does she know!!

                          Re: Cowl anti chafe material

Hank your seal of approval is appreciated. I just hated the thought of putting a poor substitute on mine after all the work I have in the Boot cowl, Cowl and nose bowl. Best I can tell its exactly the same stuff that Wag sell only its 3/4 instead of 1". Don't have enough space to tell you how I found it or where I get it, Suffice it to say its good to have friends in India. Especially when they can find something American made, which this stuff is. Go figure.

Glad to hear your knee is getting better. Unfortunately I have some experience with knee surgery at our house. My wife tote out an ACL in a skiing accident. The fix not only did not take but she had to have 13 surgery's to fix it. The Doctors say she is one of those 1 per centers they tell you about , but you never figure it will be you. Her Knee is fine now , but it was no fun. Knee surgery of any kind is rough. Here is our standard advise . Take the therapy if they offer it. Ice like your suppose to. Just when you think it will not get better, it will.
