  • transporting stuff

I seem to recall reading a bush-pilot adventure book in which s/he talked about al variety of stuff s/he was called upon to haul.

I think s/he mentioned tying stuff to the outside.

Anyone with experience mounting something outboard in order to cart it around?

Thanks - that's just what I was looking for; now, are there any moose in Northern Virginia? Is a cow an approved substitute? Mothers-in-law? - Mike

Yep, I always wondered about lashing a fishing pole to a jury strut (facing the rear). I guess that is a negative...

          Eric,
It works fine if you have a 2 piece rod.I always tied the 2 halves together in 3 or 4 places with a shoe string or zip ties before tieing it to the strut.I have also rolled them up in a sleeping bag a few times also....sleeping bag&fishing poles on one side and a tent on the other side.I always layed them on the struts against the outside of the jury struts and tied them off to the struts.I wouldn't want to put more than 20lbs or so on each side.
I have done this a lot on Super Cubs&Huskys but only a couple of times on a t-craft.

              Hey Kevin,

That is exactly what I had in mind. So is that something we can do without the restricted category and FAA OK?
