Tribe:
I just found out more roadblocks have been put in place to keep us from flying in this country.
I've flown for over 60 yrs, bought insurance, mostly liability, for most of those years, and never made a claim, never had an
accident.
I just renwed my policy on my DC-65, and found the following new restrictions have been added.
1. I must have had a class III medical exam within a year of the date of any flight.
2. I must have had a flight review check within a year of any flight.
3. The flight review must be taken in the MAKE AND MODEL shown on the policy, in this case a DC-65 Taylorcraft.
4. The person giving the flight review must have 25 logged hours in that MAKE AND MODEL.
This puts me in a real bind. I'm already illegal because last January when I took my flight review, we used the instructor's Cessna 150 because it was cold and the heater doesn't do much in the T-Craft. I doubt seriously he has 25 hours in a DC-65,(who has besides me), so I guess the only solution is to loan my plane to him and let him fly it for a week.
The truth behind all this is that they are trying to get rid of all policy holders who are 75 years of age or older.
Well, flying was fun while it lasted!
