Re: Cub v.s. Taylorcraft airfoil performance
I had a friend build up clipped Taylorcraft wings to put on his Vagabond.
Same wingspan as original, just different airfoil.
The trailing edge ended up about 3 inches higher than the originals
and required a rather novel fairing.
The airplane was marginally faster. It lacked the previous
takeoff or landing performance. He thought that the angle
of incidence needed some major changes. He took the illegal
wings off after a few years. The Taylorcraft wings were all wood and
he said they came from a L-2.
