Re: unshielded spark plugs
Bob,
Don't know if they are the best, but I use M-41's with the cups.. The C-26's are also compatible, (I think if I remember correctly), but you would have to sell your first born to get a set. I have seen some C-26's of late on Ebay, new, though.Cheers,
Marty

Re: unshielded spark plugs
I was running C-26's on top. Worked great to eliminate the bumps. Had nearly 40 troublefree hours on them before the unscheduled landing. I scrounged a couple coffee cans full of used C-26's over the last couple of years. Most cleaned up real nice. Axs a bonus, I got about 100 copper washers in one can. I beadblasted and annealled them all. Work perfect.MIKE CUSHWAY

Re: unshielded spark plugs
I was asked in a PM about this so for anyone else interested. Here is some info regarding using the Ercoupe Cups I put on my plane this last summer. Doesn't eliminate ignition noise completely, but helps. I have a couple of other things to do but just getting the shielded plugs on the bottom helps a lot.

Re: unshielded spark plugs
We use them all here ; you are correct the C-26's should have been taken out of service . Rumor has it that they still work just fine !Taylorcraft Foundation, Inc
