    Re: Compass rebuild and vgs

VG's sound like a workable idea as I have practically no control feel. Installing stronger rudder return springs and wondering if vg's exist just for control surfaces. From this it appears not.

Thanks Bill, looks like I got it on the 2nd. Will respond when I get to look at all of them.

Also, we have been looking at doing a seal on the elevator and rudder hinge that, in theory, will improve the control feel and efficiency. I WOULD NOT recommend you try it till we check it out for side effects. The gaps between the stab and elevator and the fin and rudder let a lot of air cross over and cause turbulence that decreases feel and control. We need to play with it and get some numbers before people start filling the gap or taping them over, but it is promissing.

...It's those darn Frise ailerons! C.G.was just too far ahead of his time I suppose.

Not attempting any mods at all just trying to get back into the air. Still have original position lights (Grimes) and would like to use them before my 3C Med. goes out. Not getting any younger. Neither is the fabric.
