Re: todays project
For best results and positive tail wheel steering, be sure and get the Scott/Bush wheel P/N 3239 steering springs! What you have in the photo is not the proper springs for a 3200 tail wheel. It makes a great difference!
The proper springs are available from Univair and/or Spruce.

Re: todays project
With the 3200 you must not use compression springs. The correct springs are heavy tension springs.
Also, judging from the photos, I suspect you will have a shimmy problem. The king pin that the wheel steers around should be angled back slightly at the top. It looks like your tail spring has a bend just forward of the tail wheel that flattens the angle out.

Re: todays project
Hey there chuck dont sweat the spring deal just leave a tad bit of slack. my pin angle is almost straight up and down it doesnt shimmy. i know it needs to be angled back more. it flys awesome had it on there a year and a half. the big difference youll notice is the take off role will be lengthened a bit the rotation speed will go up a bit but you wont get the wires splapping in the back and it roles on grass so much better. you already met steve pierce at ok18 next to wup he is the authority. flip on you tube he has his setup and rebuild videos on there. one option you might check to see if you have is the wheel bearing seals they work awesome from akbushwheels otherwise they get grimey quick
