    Re: Restoration

    Hank,

David Wenglarz, who has been making other Taylorcraft sheet metal parts, will be doing boot cowls. A set of heel plates should be nothing for him to do. (I hate talented people who can do neat things with metal). What an art.
    Cheers,
    Marty

      Re: Restoration

The boot cowls can be different between the left and right sides, mine was 3/8" different in length between the door and firewall. Tim

        Re: Restoration

        Mine had the metal floorplates.
I sprayed it with Gravel Guard & it has stood up very nicely.
If it wears another quick spray on a wear spot would fix it right up.

Northern Tools sells the Woodward WFBR6 bench (vise) mounted bead roller / joggler tool for $160.00. I made heel scuff plates for my 7AC from stainles steel oil drip pan "stock" and bead rolled them for stiffness. The boot cowl for the TC was joggled with the same tool. This is one tool set that has been borrowed by many folks at our field!
