    This is it. I was making them but they were cutting my hands to pieces. I have a drawing here somewhere if your fingers are up to the cuts. EVERY plane should have one, but they break and people don't replace them. If a ramp inspector knew what to look for there could be real trouble. Of course if you pull the fuel shut off instead of the cabin heat you could be in a LOT MORE!

        I have a very simple "teardrop" shaped piece of metal with a small hole drilled in the tip (skinny end) of the teardrop. It is screwed to the panel directly above the fuel shut off knob. It is labeled "GAS" and does not allow you to pull the knob out unless you first swivel the teardrop up out of the way. There is no way to inadvertently pull the fuel shut off instead of the carb heat. You need to be very deliberate if you want to shut off the fuel.

        I can take a picture if you wish, but it's a very simple solution.
