Somewhere around the house, I have an old Air Facts magazine--one of the first issues circa 1938. In it, Leighton Collins had a review of the Tandem Trainer. He mentioned the spoiler system, and it seems to me that he mentioned the company studying having the ability for the instructor to only raise one spoiler to teach spins to students. The spoilers were to be locked together with a padlock except when the instructor was in the aircraft.
I can't find the issue in my 50 year collection of magazines. Has anybody seen this provision--or did it ever come to pass? Any factory drawings?
I've owned 2 L-2s--and of course, they only had the standard system.
