  • stc questions and belly pod

when you submit an application for an stc and it is accepted is that information available to the public. for instance if they make a belly pod for the another aircraft and the stc is approved can the general public see the engineering required and have access to the data so that generalizable points can be pulled and adapted to other aircraft without reinventing the wheel.

also has anybody seen a pod for a tcraft

      I agree. (no and no)

One reason a belly pod wouldn't work well on a T is due to the movement of the gear legs on the bungees. If you put it far enough aft to "miss" that then the cg would move too far. And, there really isn't much gross weight left over by the time the cabin is full. (if any) May have to go to a larger plane if you need additional room.

They use them on PA-12's and they use a similiar gear as a Taylorcraft, I can load 200LBS in the back of my baggage and the CG is in, way over gross but the CG is ok. Tim
