  • engine cooling

I have noticed that i have on the rear of my baffles a port on each side near the motor mount pointed at my mags and another near the number 1 and 2 valve cover pointing down. these are not hooked up to anything. would i be better off to close them up to force air between the cylinders or do i need these for anything

    Re: engine cooling

Are you running hot(oil temp)? I have seen engines with a little tube attached and directed on the oil bulb housing.
It has been my experiance that the little contientals are cold blooded except on floats. If you are running hot it won't hurt to plug off the holes.
The new style baffles don't have any holes on the back of the baffle blowing on the mags. Perhaps some one else has a different experiance.

If you have a generator it's supposed to have forced ventilation.

2 of them should point at the mags to cool them. It was optionally on some aircraft in the field. Tim
