  • new software questions

    Hi all,

Is there a way to change the backround and text colors in my window view of the new sofware?

I would like more contrast and less pastel.

    Is it possible to do?

    Thanks, Dave.

    Re: new software questions

I know what you mean. I have defective color vision and am having a terrible time seeing when the color is different because there are unread messages. It isn't my monitor, they look the same to me.

I think my wife is going to get tired of telling me which ones contain unread messages.

Is it possible to get "new posts since last visit" again?

Thats driven by the template the user is assigned or selects. Right now there is only the default template. I'll create a new version that has more color and contrast as soon as I feel like it. I'm pretty pissed off right now so it might be awhile.

Pissed? Hell I have been upset ever since we stopped flying radio ranges, gave up on rotary engines with castor oil, and hardly ever use light guns in the pattern anymore. And by the way!!! If we are supposed to be so dad-blamed modern, why in heck do VORs still send out morse code??? That's good enough for any Taylorcraft geezer. And furthermore !!!!! What is this story with the new online weather briefing in clear English - what is wrong with the old teletype codes? Bunch of namby pamby pilots out there. Get a grip! If you want MODERN go get a stupid NOSE WHEEL!

All jest aside, I like the new bulletin board and hope to learn all its new features.
              Thanks.
              Best Regards,

                Re: new software questions

ok, style template TF blue is back, and that should be the default when you logout and back in, or maybe hit reload on the browser. The color is a bit off, but I think it will anoy Hank so I'll leave it in for awhile.

The logo is back. Its taken from a photo I made of one of our members tcraft at one of the flyins 5 or 10 years ago.
For those that want to fiddle (hank) at the bottom left of the forum page you willl a selection box for the style template.

                  Re: new software questions

More new looks! I REALLY missed the Taylorcraft nose cowl at the top of the page. Makes it feel like home to have it back.
If you think we are complaining too much just remember, we are all still reading like mad. If we were really unhappy with what you were doing with the site, we wouldn't say anything, we would just leave. I like the site like it was, and like it is. I also am very glad we don't use the light guns anymore. They were harder to see than the color difference in the first page of the forum for me.
I like the forum, I can deal till you get to the colors. Your turn to play and have some fun.

Bob I think the (hank's deluxe) is quite a colorful contrast that almost any one can see including RAY Charles !!!!

Thanks, I like the blue again, feels like home! Only one small request, can the default print size be increased a bit? My old, not perfect, eyes would apreciate that. Not a game breaker though as I can increase the whole screen if I get desperate, as yet I haven't had to do that. L

                          Hi Larry,

Try doing ctrl + and the text size should increase each time you do ctrl +

Make it smaller again with ctrl -

Wow, that's cool Dave. I didn't know ctrl + and - did that. Much better for me, too!
