I'm guessing you meant .750" diameter, or did you mean .75?

I had forgotten I did have a set chromed (how could I forget the bill), I thought when I looked at the ones on the TV they were only nickle plated. I need to do a test and see if the 45 shafts really are chrome or nickle and polish them up a bit. Some of the old shafts in the hangar are pretty beat up (I never toss anything) but I should be able to get dimensions. The 41 wheels are mounted and rigged but I can get diameters.
If you DO re-plate, the recommendation to embrittlement relieve is sound. DON'T skip the post plate bake!

My 41 shafts were worns so bad that you could see the chrome, nickle and copper so I had them rechromed and baked. Not much force on them but still wanted to reduce the Hydrogen embrittlement. Tim

The 45 shafts are .075" diameter .049 wall with .250" cross hole on the chain end centered .750" from the end. One thing is the cross holes are oriented differently on each shaft checked! The cross bolt holes are drilled to match the sprocket fitting. The 45 shafts are nickle plated but don't appear to have any chrome.

Mine were 3/4, .049 wall, then copper/nickle/chrome plated and baked to reduce hydrogen embrittlement. I also made new pheonlic blocks bored to 3/4, then buffed with a flapper wheel and got the rubber from Metro molded products, they sell a Uchannel that fits. Tim

The easiest ones are the pretzels you sold me the yoke hub covers for.

Those are the ones I'm really interested in. I've had a couple of requests from folks who are trying to "un-update" their yokes to the pretzle style. Problem is their shafts have been butchered or replaced. I need dimensions but was hoping for materials and processes, too. I suspect the materials and processes would be the same regardless of the yoke style.

But, I'll take whatever I can get! If the yokes are still off, would you get the ID of the hub?

The shafts are different for different years and types of wheels. What have you got? You probably don't really "need" a drawing and if I have one of the type you need I can give you the diameter, length and hole sizes (and a sketch if needed).
I have a set of 45 Pretzel wheel types out of the plane and can still measure the 41 clover types and the Banjo ones. I could probably crawl under the panel of Ray's plane and measure his 45 type but that might take a little longer.
The easiest ones are the pretzels you sold me the yoke hub covers for. Both wheels and shafts are sitting on top of the TV in our family room awaiting a plane to put them in. I sure like looking at them and day dreaming more than what's on TV.

If I already asked this, I apologize for the duplication and promise not to ask again...

Does anyone have a drawing of a control shaft (between the u-joint and the yoke), preferably for the "pretzel" style yoke?
