That's a good question. Why not move it to Humor, Rants and Raves so the members can express their concerns? I thought only Dictators censored comments.

I figure whoever closed the thread can answer the question here just as easily as in Rants and Raves. I am just curious. I don't see any added ease of use for the members. In fact, it seems to be less user friendly. So unless this new site is a lot easier for the moderator, why change?
It's going to take a huge brick of cheese to go with all this w(h)ine!
I have much better things to worry about than question why someone who is an expert at site administration made a decision to make some technology improvements. I'll bet the site administrator volunteers his or her time. I would also bet that thier motive for making changes is positive and meant to benefit us all. I for one appreciate their willingness to do this and don't really care that I was consulted or warned of improvements before they happen.
I am not worried about anything. I frequent this forum primarily for entertainment. Occasionally someone asks a question that I know a little something about and I offer what little I know to help them. I have been visiting this forum for several years, and cannot recall seeing a thread closed so soon after being posted. It is odd. It begs the question, why. Now your post causes me to wonder, why would you worry about my question. I can tell you that I agree with you about the administrator's motive for making the change being positive. All I asked is what was that motivation. Now you seem to be implying that anyone who asks a question is whining. I am just asking a question. If that offends you, all I can say is deal with it, because I have several more questions. Of course, just because I, or anyone else, asks a question doesn't mean anyone is going to answer them. But it is out of character from the way the forum has been operating for a long time. There have been discussion on this forum about the Taylorcraft Club and things Forrest did or didn't do that someone else didn't like. But in the end, it all gets discussed and worked out. Now suddenly a few people ask questions and it is all closed down. Something is different. This is not the way thing have been done in the past. All I am asking is WHY?
On the Myers/Briggs assesment model, I am an ENTJ. This translates to Extrovert, Innovative, Technical and Judgemental. What this means is I speak up, I appreciate change, I understand the need for change and I judge change as good or bad. I asked why the change and why make the change without letting anyone know. I have the ability to figure the change out whether I think it is good or bad. I supsupect, though, that there are a lot of people who will see this site, think they have reached it in error and shut it down. They may return later and try again or maybe not. At the very least, there should have been a big banner that read "Welcome to the new Taylorcraft Foundation" site. This would have told those confused individuals to look further.
Now if this is whining, then I am a whiner. But if we accept change without question, then we will elect a President that is not qualified for the position or one that is a laughing stock with glasses.

All I wanted was a simple response to a simple question. I don't want to make waves, and don't consider any of this whinning. I have sent emails to Forrest, Rob Lees, and Bob Ollerton. I am sure there is a very simple reason for making the change. I am curious, so I asked a question. I have noticed a new ability to link postings to other sites and articles. Maybe eventually we will all see this as an improvement. But for now, the silence is deafening.
I doubt anyone would think I am a whiner, but who knows. It was funny that when I first opened the new version I immediately backed out thinking I had gone to the wrong place. After coming back to the same thing every time I was worried the site had been hacked and just logged in every so often then backed back out thinking it hadn't been fixed yet. MY BAD! I NEVER EVEN BOTHERED to read it to see that the site had changed! Sometimes us old farts are our own worst enimy.

My first response was "what has happened here". Totally upset over having to get out of my comfort zone. After just a few days I feel like I'm back to where I was before with one positive. I don't need to wait 15 seconds to go to the next thread. I am having a hard time punching previous vs. next thread to go down thru the list. I'm 69 I fight my grandson on everything he tries to do to improve my computer experience. After just a few days I'm over my upsetness. Maybe I'm younger than I think.
Passing my Flight Physical yesterday might have something to do with my positive attitude today.
You and I are apparently too much alike. I did exactly the same thing and kept going back thinking it was my computer. This is one of the concerns I have for new visitors. If it is confusing for us I am sure it is going to be confusing for some new, (and old) forum visitors. There are no clear indicators it is the Taylorcraft Forum unless you search around a bit.
Now, I recently noticed when you visit Taylorcraft.org and go to the forum page it is now set-up to go directly to our forum page, rather than having to navigate through the original Home page. I just tried to go to the Home page and it states I don't have access. So....that is a big improvement over yesterday. Thanks to Bob, or whomever, 'fixed' this.
