This may belong in Humor, Rants and Raves, but am I the only one surprised by the new website format? I hate when someting I am happy with gets changed. Especially when it makes it harder to find what I'm looking for.

Re: I'm surprised.
Wow.... this is different! Who made this decision? Yes it would have been nice to know this was coming. I guess this is another one of those "benefits" of belonging to the Foundation? Wait... I no longer am paid up. I guess that's why nobody consulted with me before making this change. Is someone trying to make a statement on this? How many TF "paid-up" members were consulted on this? Hopefully this is a temporary change.
OK.. well, I will try and be open minded and will give this a chance. Hopefully this will end up as an improvement.Last edited by barnstmr; 03-31-2011, 08:17.Terry Bowden, formerly TF # 351

Re: I'm surprised.
I'm paid up. I was not consulted or even warned. That's why I started this thread.
It would be nice if members could have been told this was in the works. The first thing I do each morning is go on line, check emails and look at the Forum. I follow it all day, mid-morning break, lunch, afternoon break and when I get home. It has always been easy to make a quick check. Not so anymore.Tom Peters

Re: I'm surprised.
I didn't know it was coming, but it has happened before. The care taker of the website likes to stay on the cutting edge with the software. I was a little surprised when I clicked on my favorites link and the new page came up, but it's not to big of a deal if you remember your user name and password to log in. After logging in I went to the forum tab at the top. When on the forum page I saved it as a "favorite", then deleted the old saved link. Now I am back like it was before. Tom

Re: I'm surprised.
The old site was like a pair of comfortable shoes. This new site is pinching my toes a little. Just like with new shoes, I suspect a lot of people will be doing less "walking". See if you don't notice a drop off in posts. I am curious about what the motivation was behind the switch, costs, ease of management??? It would have been nice to have a courtesy notice of the change ahead of time with a short run down of the differences. I have managed to figure out how to log on and post. But there are some that used to frequent the old site that are not as computer literate as many of us. I hope they don't fall by the wayside. I think the more folks we have on here the better off we all are.Richard Pearson

Re: I'm surprised.
I pretty savvy computer wise. I work on one all day. I have never understood why site administrators feel the need to change something that is working fine. I'm concerned the new site will scare a lot of potential members off because it is not easy to use. Oh, and by the way, where is the Foundation Photo Gallery?Tom Peters

Re: I'm surprised.
I am on other forums that use the VBulletin software. This is one of the last to upgrade to the newer version. I think there is more involved than just changing for the sake of change. After a few little changes on my part I don't see the forum being that much different than before. Tom
