Will be on the field all week starting Tuesday to help Forrest. We are planning the honor the arrival of the Model A to Alliance on Thursday. Who is planning on trying to make it? Weather is looking good around here. N43754's restoration fell just short, and so we will be there with our Pacer, brown and tan with an orange stripe. Stop by for some shade. Looking forward to meeting some, and seeing others again!

Hi all, see the the post I just put in the "for sale" section. If you are coming to Alliance, we can get you to my Dad's to look at the project. I believe Forrest has the original 50 HP engine that went with NC21261 listed in his post above. I will be out at the airport Wednesday afternoon getting set up.

We are getting ready; just had the conference with "Duke" Iden , he is now 95 years strong and doing the Early Bird Breakfast at Don Pancho's at 8AM , Sunday morning; all pilots & crew that do the Fly-Around Alliance that morning are invited to that Breakfast in Alliance. Duke always has lots of memoribilla and many stories. I told Duke I will try to do it after the Fly-By. the Model A will be here tomorrow. more updates as we get them.

Press release 7-5-11 Taylorcrafts once again return to Alliance in July:

                        The 40th Annual Taylorcraft Fly-In and Reunion will be held July 7th, 8th, 9th & 10th
at the Barber Airport 3 miles north of Alliance on Union Ave. This Fly-In has been held at this location since 1972 to bring together the owners of Taylorcraft airplanes and those former employees (Old-Timer’s) of Taylorcraft that built them. Russell “Duke” Iden heads up this former employee group. They plan to meet at 8AM July 9th for their Early Bird Breakfast the same that they have been doing for all the Fly-Ins in the past. They will convene at Don Pancho’s at 2105 W. State St., Alliance.
Duke always has an interesting program for the people that attend this kick off Breakfast. Over 15 airplanes flew over the group last year prior to their meeting where “Duke” and the “Old-Timers” reminisced about the years in Alliance when Taylorcraft flourished with over 2200 employees.

Forrest Barber, Executive Director of the Taylorcraft Foundation and owner of the Barber Airport along with his wife Patricia and their families all pitch in to get the airport ready for this event. The Foundation then registers the arrivals and meets with them on Sat. evening for their Annual meeting where the annual awards are presented.
This year we will see a Combination Fly-in with the Ohio Aeronca Aviator’s group headed by Brian Matz and his family

Tom and Marty both made it in today, and another Tcraft that I did not get to meet as yet. Forrest and Doug Taylor were able to perform a Heritage flight with the Model A first Model A, and the last F-19 built to acknowledge the actually 75th anniversery of Taylorcraft moving to Alliance Ohio. Weather looks good for the weekend. If anyone is flying cross country have a good flight.
