When they removed the nose tank under the 1A9 TC ; I did the dive tests. We hit 160 mph and the starter ring was hit by the nose cowl because the whole top of the cowling pushed back, it was explained to me that the neck sticking up on the nose tank had contributed to keeping this from happening on the earlier ships.
The engineer put a reinforcement at the top of the boot cowl to solve the problem . I only had to do 141 plus 10% for the Vd test. I just got carried away I later took the Clip Wing to 170mph in Dive and it was fine.
