Heavy Rear Lift Struts?

Have any of you seen rear lift struts that are .060" thick? I had several of mine tested last weekend at Great Lakes Testing in Green Bay and found a rear lift strut that was .060" thick vs. the .038-.040 (normal) thickness. I never noticed the weight difference until I had them next to each other on the bench. Would these have been for the "F" series planes?
