    Just a word of advice.
I just recently thought I'd upgrade my old iCom A-22 to a little A-4.
Cute little things but the antenia is now in the way of the adapter to plug into intercomm! No biggy just get a new adapter.

$100 for a simple little adapter OPC752 that's exactly the same as the one I already have for the A-22 except the plug-in out of radio is straight up to clear antenia recepticle.
Aircraft Spruce doesn't even have a listing for one!
IMHO what a screw-up by iCom

I'd never trade my A22 it's a great unit....seems it'll never die. The Icom guy at Osh told me he hates the A22 cause the owners keep them forever...they just won't die...hard on sales for him

While in Oregon, Erickson Air Crane bought 6 A-22's for different places, several of us workers got some at a real good "bulk" price, one of them was in the crash of a P-38 in Tillamook, OR. my son and I had worked on it for several years, we went to the crash site a couple days after the wreckage had been moved, up in a tree was the A-22 hanging with the battery broken and hanging by the wires, I got my little son on my shoulders, stood up and he reached up and got the radio, we took it home, hooked the battery from my A-22 in it and it came up on 122.8. Works good, lasts a long time, don't mess with it.

A22's are good, as are the old A20's. Stick with them. Replacement batteries (if required) are cheap from Batteries America.

The newer Icom's don't have the power.

          Thanks guys
For the price of a $100 adapter i could easily buy a new battery with enough left over for beer

A-22 is the way I'm going.
