Do you have a swivel rear seat for an L2?

        Bob Picard,

Unfortunately the swivel seat went with my L-2 when I sold it because the original restorer had welded in a fixed seat set-up and the new owner wanted to someday fix that. Sorry...
        Cheers,

Re: aero fabricators to make taylorcraft vertical fins

If anybody remembers , I loaned full sets of three hinge & two hinge tail surfaces to Wag-Aero ; Bill & Tom worked with me on the drawings too! They have been at this for a few years. I also sent them & Univair & others the list of requests for parts NEEDED by our members.
Sure wish Bill Read or Tom O-Neil would keep me at the Foundation up on their latest endeavours

Certification is a strange animal , I was with the factory way in the past and still believe that "acceptable data" can be made into "Approved data" a lot quicker than it has been done in the past out in the Regional offices .
If it is not in the FAA handbook and that Inspector has not done it in the past then it just keeps getting bumped UP the line like the old "Peter Principle" ( describes how people arise to their own level of incompetence).

Below are the thoughts of the Foundation from a few years back this was printed in the Newsletter back then!
          ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SENT BY FORREST & THOUGHTS OF MEMBERS.

"As we all know the airplane is the sum of its parts. So logically you will have to build or acquire all the parts to build the airplane. Here are real necessary parts that we need out in the field to keep our 4000-5000 ships flying.

Remember that fire-wall aft most parts are the same for all models of ATC 696 & 1A9…. All owners should have a reprint ( or original) of the Feris era “Parts & Price list” for the F-19 or F-21 ship. We have them here for sale at the Foundation. I sent one to you a while back. They are on Capt Jon’s web site too.

WE NEED: ( FROM THE PARTS & PRICE LIST) Baffle Assy: most all models page 3
Cowling Installations : all models page 4 especially the B-9039 & B-9026 slip seam hinges AND the longer B9039-1 & B9026-1 plus B9026-2 for the later engines

Gascolators: All; it sure is nice to “install a Taylorcraft part by number”

Empennage installation: two hinge first then others ALL parts , stabs, elevators, rudder, fin tail wires ( all three lengths) nipples, wires straps, inserts, pins…

Windshield metal strips all around & rubber mouldings for early & late B models

SPARS and most all other wing parts are needed quickly; -2 fittings are really needed for the guys upgrading the gross weights & engines.

Struts , struts did I mention struts are needed NOW! Jury struts & adjusting screws too! A-A815 front strut ; A-A854 rear with the 1296 clamp for the diameter strut being used.

          Alighting gears: we now call them landing gears;
all models will sell ( the tapered axle too!)

Brakes: newer and the older ones too

Carb Air boxes: A-50226 they are out sourced just resell them, call me

Exhaust systems: you make or outsource they are available NOW you have to inspect and ship. "

I will forward this attachment to our list service for their comments to be put onto the list, & e-mailed directly to you or myself…..more soon
          Bye Forrest
