I watched it , recorded it , loved it, They used some of the areas that Sarah Palin had visited , the Gold Rush show is neat too!! " There are strange done in the Midnight Sun!!" I really need to go there.

My wife and I think his daughter, Ariel, stole the show. We definitely enjoyed it. Beautiful country....

Yes, I enjoyed it too. They do seem to play up the danger part a little too much. They made a big deal about the guy taking off from the ridge after dropped off the hunters and the gear. Hey, he was empty. How is he going to take off when he picks up the hunters?

Marty, I agree, the daughter stole the show. I think we will see more of her in the future. Having a little experience with hollywood the show was not bad.

i agree the show is pretty great! National geographic has one as well, "Alaska Wing Men" the episode i saw had a Piper Pacer and all kinds of taildraggers and a couple helicopters, but i did notice a Beaver (rotary engine) land and a Beaver (Turbine) take off and it be the same "percieved" airplane, but i really like that its many different places and not just one company!

Often hunters will be dropped off in the high country to hunt their way downhill. As you surmised they will be much heavier on their way out with game and gear. Most likely they have a different departure location planned with longer runways. They also could come out in multiple loads.

I too was fooled by that scene where the guy was landing on the glacier to pick up the skiers. But after rewinding I realized that one was a radial engined Beaver, the other a turbine engined Otter. I guess they just didn't realize that with the two planes having the same paint job there would be confusion.
