      Opening Day at Oshkosh 2004

Opening Day at Oshkosh 2004 was BUSY!!!!

There were lots of visitors to the Taylorcraft booth #48. Many pilots were very interested in the new F22 on display.

This photo was taken at 8:30am this morning (Tuesday July 27)before the gates opened. It is deceptively calm. The crowds were heavy all day...

More tomorrow about the new BC12SP model announced for the Sport Pilot category....

          Darren,
I just hope the new F22 has a different fuel tank design than our F21Bs do. Otherwise, they'd better come with a generous warranty.

Doesn't sound like it.... prob a good thing when Forrest "bulged" out the tanks on test flight... that it didn't drop it out the bottom of the wing.... wonder what would happen then?

I thought they were re-designing the tanks. Isn't this the reason that they had to drive it up instead of flying it?

The tanks have been redesigned and approved. The hang up now is that the FAA's engineering is making the factory redesign the straps holding them in. The drawings are with the FAA awaiting a sign-off. We all know how fast they work.

                  Mike,
That all sounds well and good, but where did you get your information, and when did the designs go to the FAA? I'm getting a whole different story from a source inside the FAA.

                    Craig,

I got the info from the factory. I was told the tanks were approved a couple of weeks ago. Have you heard something different?
