    Re: wheel pants

Ray, I have both the original cast and welded steel type. I bought the welded steel set from a Tcraft guy at Sun N Fun a few years ago. I paid about $50.00 for them. As you can see 1 has more holes then it needs. If you want them, you can have them for what I paid + shipping. You don't need to spend $165.00.

I found the following in my old Taylorcraft stuff box. I have no idea where it came from but it might make some things a little clearer.

Finally, I was able to get a couple of pictures taken today. One is the pant bracket and the other the pant nut.

(Pardon the seeds, I picked those up on landing when I brought her to her new home).

Where do you get all the cool stuff, Hank? Oh I forgot, Indiana....

          Re: wheel pants

I fell in love with Taylorcrafts over 35 years ago and collect ANYTHING I can find that has to do with them. I LOVE old magazine articles or pictures with one in the background and when I get close to one I haven't seen before I will have my camera out taking pictures in all the nooks and crannies.

If you think I'm bad with Taylorcrafts you should see me with WW-I planes! For me there is nothing quite as much fun as helping with an annual on an antique aeroplane! I love getting to inspect someone elses work and then go steal his good ideas for my plane.
We used to get together in the VA/NC area for annuals and it was a lot of fun. We need to start that again. The A&P/IA didn't have to do much but look and give a thumbs up. Anything wrong and we had it fixed before he could walk over. We always found any problem while we were opening her up so it made it a game for him to see if he could find something we missed. Makes for REALLY safe airplanes.

Found these in the parts box today (found a LOT of stuff today!)
These are the type of outer pant mounts that slide into the axles with the tube and bolt to the pant with the top of the "T".
