Official depth ended up 14.5". Two behind the all time record in the 1800s! Just got through digging out the car and a path to the mailbox with a rake and a garden spade. Time to think about moving further south.

Don't know if this will get out from here in south east Virginia. We had 8 1/2" of snow by 11:30 this morning and it is beyond a foot now at 5:00 pm. Deepest snow I have seen here EVER (been here 35 years, it looks like Kansas).
Merry Christmas to all and hope the next one is our usual brown, not white. Us poor southerners don't have a clue what to do in snow!

Merry Christmas from snowy Iowa, where unfortunately the sky is still the same color as the ground.

    Kevin,

I agree. George is a little more north-central Illinois than me and I haven't seen that color for awhile, either.

Best of Christmas and a pleasant New Year to everyone.

It is standard California weird here. Cloudy and cooler with a windy front coming in from the ocean today, but two days ago it was bright and sunny and I was playing some tennis in a Tee shirt and shorts, and sweating.
At the airport there are acres of fresh 4 inch tall grass, nice and green, but if I get in my Tcraft and fly a little way East I will be flying over mountains with 10 ft or more of snow. Strange place central California.

It hasn't snowed here in about 10 hours. Almost a record this year, as it seems we recieve 2 to 6 inches every day or so! LOL I am already tired of winter. :grumpy:
OK I take some of that back; as I write this the sun is peaking through making for a beautiful sight of freshly fallen snow out my window.

Yeah,we got another 4 inches here in east Kentucky overnight. That makes about a foot & a half since thanksgiving and very little melting!! Just keeps piling up. It's nice however to have a white Christmas for a change. There talking about the temps in the upper 40's this coming friday,it will be the first temps we've seen above freezing since thanksgiving weekend!:yahoo:Maybe I'll go swimming
