Re: Video - some flying in the Tcraft today
Nice video!
My comments, largely tongue-in cheek :
1. Your prop kick-back is caused by starting on "both"...and you only have one impulse mag. Try starting on Left. The 65 should start at idle if cold. Have you tried starting from behind the prop?
2. Your fuel is not off (but I do see the tail rope ).
3. On shutdown, push the throttle fully open...it's in the POH (errr..Owner's manual) and purges the cylinders of excess fuel.
Those aside, I loved the video. It's a new perspective on flying that we all see with our own eyes, but rarely from the eyes of another.
I think you'd be hard-pressed to improve upon the camera angle, with the wide-angle that you have, and the deep wing root that the Taylorcraft has. I think you should leave that as it is.
Having seen your previous videos, could you edit (synchronise?) one flight from two or three camera shots...for example with a strut-mounted camera for the in-flight portion, and a ground camera for some of the ground shots?

Re: Video - some flying in the Tcraft today
thanks for the input.
1) I'll try that next time.
2) That tail rope is a must in my opinion.
3) if you look closely you catch a few frames down below when I turn the key I do push the throttle open fully.
In the next few weeks I'm going to place some cameras at various parts on the airframe and assemble a more refined video. These new GoPro HD cameras I have are small, light and perfect for mounting to wingtips, struts, etc. But they don't like vibration very much. Need to isolate them as best as possible.
On the next video I'm going to place it on the right side of my head sets at eye level. In this video I was using a headband mount which puts the camera about 3" higher than my eyes. Should be a much better angle.DJ Vegh
