Going to take my landing gear off to put new bushings in, throwing away the fabric covering and going to leave it open tubing. Looking to put on the ski brace since i do alot of winter flying. Does anyone have some pics or advice, pros, cons?? I looked on here for a thread i seen a while ago but cannot seem to find it.

Re: ski brace
I put the brace in a couple of years ago. I used streamlined tubing the same size as the gear strut, probably overkill but it looks the best in my opinion. Ive herd of guys using regular round tube but I didn't like that idea. Fly up to Surfside in Lino Lakes and check it out. There is about an inch of fresh light snow on top of hard packed groomed snow.

Re: ski brace
Yes, it seems anyone younger than 50 is a young guy in the aviation world. And anyone younger than 35-30 is a punk, or if you listen to that rock and roll loud guitar music. Ill try to get some pictures up for you. We have been talking about having a ski flyin at Surfside for a few years now. We may actually do it this year. Ill let you know when if we have one.
